Need a lesson? Can't get to a clinic? Even after a lesson or clinic, it's hard to remember all the information covered. And sometimes, just the pressure of riding in front of someone makes it hard to absorb everything that is being presented.
Send me a 20 minute video of you and your horse, and receive back a "video visit" on tape that you can review over and over in the privacy of your own home. Unlike "real time" events, which are over once they happen, the actions you capture on tape can be stopped, rewound, studied and analyzed. You will be able to watch yourself riding while I make suggestions you can experiment with. I'll point out things I see that are positive as well as things you might want to change.
You may send either a regular size VHS videotape or a compact VHS-C tape. A full-size tape will give more time for adding comments to your riding session and adding demonstrations that I will tape. If you are sending a 30 minute compact tape, you might want to also send a blank full-size tape that I can dub onto, and I will return both tapes to you.
For best taping and viewing results, try to stay as close to the camera as possible and have the camera operator zoom in on you when you get farther away. Don't let the close-ups cut off the horse's feet though. It is easiest to see what you are doing when the camera angle is from the side or the front, rather than from the rear. If your camera will pick them up, feel free to make comments while you are riding, about what you are trying to do, and what your horse is doing.
For $65, I will review your video and critique with a voice-over. At the end of your tape, I will add video demos to clarify concepts I have talked about. If you don't want the demos, the price is $50. Include a check or money order for either $50 or $65 with your tape. Please make your check out to "Jan Young."
